THE SCRIPTURES: We believe that “all Scripture is given by inspiration of God,” meaning that all 66 books of our English Bible were written by holy men who were ‘borne along’, under the control of the Holy Spirit of God. We believe that this inspiration involves every individual word of the Bible, and that it reaches to every part of the writings as they appeared in the original manuscripts.
THE GODHEAD: We believe that while the Scriptures clearly teach that God is one, nevertheless, within this unity there are three eternal and co-equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
MAN: We believe that while man was originally created by God in innocence and in the image of his Creator, nevertheless, man fell through willful sin, and as a result lost his spiritual life and fellowship with God, becoming dead in trespasses and sins. Since the fall, all men and all of human nature has been poisoned by sin and its effects.
JESUS CHRIST: We believe that the eternal Son of God, or second person of the Godhead, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born of a virgin, and as true God received a human body and a human but sinless nature. He came to manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of lost humanity.
SALVATION: We believe that the eternal Son died for our sins, endured our judgment, and was buried, but that he rose again assuring both our physical and spiritual resurrection. We believe that due to our deadness in sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again. We believe that this new birth from above is an act of God the Holy Spirit, and comes only through personal saving faith in the person and work of Jesus Christ.
THE HOLY SPIRIT: We believe that the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead, possesses both the qualities of personhood and the attributes of deity, such as omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence. Among the ministries of the Holy Spirit are His convicting, and converting of sinners and His controlling or filling of saints. The Spirit baptizes, seals, and indwells all true believers at the time of conversion, uniting all of Christ’s own into one body.
THE CHURCH: We believe that the church is that ‘called out’, believing and redeemed body, the Body of Christ, which in its mystical form transcends all racial, ethnic, and visible denominational lines. We believe that this mystical body has manifested itself in local visible assemblies, and we believe that it is the duty of everyone who is born again to seek out a local fellowship for the furtherance of the Gospel and for personal edification.
LAST THINGS: We believe in a literal, bodily resurrection of both the saved and lost of all human history. We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost. We also believe in the second, visible, glorious, and powerful return to earth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
